This High/Low load extender is a great value. It gives you lots of versatility and adds stability in carrying odd and long items. I really like how I can convert this pretty simply from a high load to a low load pretty easily. and mostly without any tools. That being said, it also does have a fair amount of play in in that can result in rattling and other noises. But for carrying the occasional long ladder, paddleboard, kayaks or other thing of that nature this is a great option to increase the stability and safety of transporting those items. For my truck and cap with roof bar configuration, the high load orientation is about 3″ short of lining up with the cross bars I have on my bed cap. Measured from the top of the hitch to the top of the support bar, it is 57″ at the tallest setting. If it is important to you to have to completely line up, take that measurement into account. One other gripe I have is that the load bar is not completely flat. The two bolts used to attach it to the upright make sit so that they protrude proud of the surface. This could be a problem if you are trying to carry sheet goods that can not get marred up like furniture grade plywood. Overall this is a good accessory to have around in case you need it. Especially useful if you have one of the shorter beds that are more and more common than the old standard 6.5′ beds.
