Description DALMORE 32 YEARS OLD 1974 – CASK STRENGTH 2006 Dalmore 1974 Single Cask #504 A Dalmore distilled in 1974 and matured for 32 years in a sherry butt and bottled without chill-filtration and bottled at 52% ABV with only 780 bottles released. Bottled in 2006 for La Maison du Whisky. Serge Valentin from whiskyfun.com describes this as “an excellent, punchy and rather heavily sherried Dalmore for long winter evenings” and awarded it 89 points. This bottle is being sold for a private collector so the price you see is what you pay. Only postage to add if you are not in the UK. DESCRIPTION Bottled on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of La Maison du Whiskey, this 1974 vintage Dalmore comes from full aging in ex sherry barrels (#504). We can speak of Dalmore “wine”, as this version is so reminiscent of grapes affected by noble rot, picked grain by grain, in the Sauternes vineyard. A great vintage for sure. A limited edition of 780 bottles for the world. TASTING NOTES Nose : fine, complex. The dried fruits (apricot, almond) are coated in a noble liqueur (coffee, grapes). It evolves into chocolate, spices (cloves) and undergrowth notes. Appearance : old gold with amber highlights. Mouth : tannic, heady, it reveals itself to be spicy (pepper, ginger) and fruity (mango, passion fruit). It grows on citrus fruits (lemon) and flowers (iris, pepper rose). Finish : long, smooth, it evokes a very ripe, juicy mango. It lingers on coriander, red fruits (raspberry, blueberry) and incense.
